You’re Not a Fraud. You’re Just Nervous.

If you’ve ever sat in the parking lot before an interview thinking,
“I don’t belong here.”
You’re not alone.

That voice in your head? It’s called imposter syndrome.
And it lies.

The Lie:
Imposter syndrome says you’re not qualified.
That you’re faking it.
That someone’s going to “find out.”

But let’s be real.

If you got the interview, you earned that shot.
Someone saw your potential.
You’re not a fraud—you’re just nervous.

Here’s how to shut that voice up:

List your wins.
Write down three times you accomplished something you didn’t think you could. Read them out loud.

Practice out loud.
Say your answers to common interview questions out loud—awkwardly, alone, in your car if needed. Hearing your voice helps your brain believe it.

Use your nerves.
Nerves mean you care. Athletes feel them. Performers feel them. Pros feel them. Channel that energy.

Breathe. Then ask questions.
You’re not just being interviewed. You’re interviewing them too. A great hire is a mutual fit.

Remember:
Confidence isn’t the absence of fear.
It’s action in spite of it.

And you’ve already done the hardest part—showing up.
